The work of our group focuses on the bioprospecting of microorganisms from poly-extreme environments with the aim of understanding their mechanisms of adaptation in front to different stress factors and to determine their possible biotechnological applications. In addition, in recent years we have focused on the monitoring of microbiomes in different industrial processes related to the treatment of brackish and wastewater. Currently, we are working on the co-creation of scientific tourism routes focused on the evolution and limits of life in conditions of extreme aridity.
