James Robeson is Professor in his Institution and developed his academic career at the Institute of Biology.
His research deals with horizontal gene transmission in bacteria with emphasis in conjugation and generalized transduction from Escherichia coli model systems to natural pathogenic and environmental bacteria. In addition, he has conducted work on the selection, isolation and characterization of lytic bacteriophages active against Salmonella enterica and their assay in bacteriophage therapy protocols.
At present, he continues to investigate bacteriophage selection strategies as well as the basis for bacteriophage polyvalency.
