Arrival in Chile
All international flights to Chile arrive and depart to and from the international airport “Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez” in Santiago de Chile (SCL).
Passport and visa requirements
All foreign citizens are required to enter Chile with a valid passport or identity card.
Citizens from countries with valid bilateral agreements with Chile may enter the country with their identity card. These countries are: Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Peru.

Transfer to Valparaíso
Valparaíso is located at 110 kilometers from airport “Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez”. This represents a 90-minute ride along Route 68,
The following options are available for the trip, departing from Santiago’s airport:
- By bus:
Centro Puerto and Tur Bus, direction Metro Station “Pajaritos” and from “Pajaritos” in another bus (Pullman Bus, Tur Bus, Buses Romani, Condor bus) with destination Viña del Mar or Valparaíso
Tur Bus, directly from the airport to Viña del Mar or Valparaíso.
- Departures from the Airport. Airport > Valparaíso > Viña del Mar 09:50 / 14:30 h.
- Departures from Viña del Mar (Main Bus Terminal). Viña del Mar > Valparaíso > Airport 05:00 / 10:25 / 12:55 h
- Departures from Valparaíso (from Main Bus Terminal). Valparaíso > Airport 06:20 / 10:55 / 13:25 h.

There are many lodging options in Valparaiso and in Viña del Mar, also known as the “Garden City” and located close to Valparaíso (10 kilometers). There is a good public transportation system between the two cities.
We recommend planning your lodging in advance and consider the options suggested by the Servicio Nacional de Turismo de Chile, SERNATUR:
Currency, Banks and Credit Cards
The national currency is the Chilean Peso (CLP). You can verify the rate of exchange at: https://www.emol.com/economia/
Banks open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are ATM machines (Redbanc) easily available at public places and stores. There are 2 ATM machines located at the Congress venue.
Most credit cards are accepted in Chile.
Chile is a safe destination. However, and as in any big city in the world, you should pay attention to your personal belongings and avoid risky situations. We recommend you leave your passport, documents and valuables in your hotel and carry photocopies of them.
